X-Tek provides a powerful industrial PC with specialised software with their inspection systems that is tailored for the type of samples being inspected. Micro-focus cabinet systems are supplied with the iXS software, and industrial inspection systems are supplied with the IMPS software. The iXS software is very soon to be replaced by a new generation of software, Inspect-X.
Each of the software packages provide real-time viewing of radioscopic images of the sample, and the capture of images for image processing and analysis. To achieve the optimal view of the sample, the software provides controls for the multi-axis manipulator and the generation of X-rays.
iXS software is designed to obtain the best images on micro-focus cabinet inspection systems. It includes a comprehensive set of image enhancement and analysis tools to allow you to see the detail within your sample.
There is a comprehensive range of image enhancement tools ranging from tonal adjustment through to specialised BGA analysis tools.
iXS has operator and supervisor modes of operation that can be password protected. This ensures that each user has access to the functions that they require.
Repetitive and complex inspection sequences can be automated by programming the system using VBScript, a variant of the universal Visual Basic. To help the generation of the VBScript, a 'Teach and Learn' facility is built into the software. This writes the script whilst you are controlling the system. Running this script will repeat the actions that you performed.
iXS supports a number of different image capture devices including analogue and digital cameras.
Inspect-X is a new generation of control software for the micro-focus cabinet inspection systems. Inspect-X builds upon the experience of the iXS software and is designed with the users in mind.
Inspect-X features operator and supervisor modes, an integrated help system, visual mapping of the whole inspection area, click and view manipulator control, zoom to sample, scan board, save positions and image zoom. To aid ease of use, almost all functions within the software are available for use on real-time live images as well as captured images.
Inspect-X has operator and supervisor modes of operation that are password protected. In each mode only the functions appropriate to that level are displayed.
Inspect-X includes a comprehensive range of image enhancement and analysis tools ranging from tonal adjustment through to specialised BGA analysis tools. To allow you to get the most from your image, Inspect-X features user-configurable multipoint tone adjust, image processing filters such as sharpen, smooth, edge detect, emboss and background subtract, and live image histogram. These give Inspect-X the edge when analysing your image.
Inspect-X offers various aids to automation. A 'Teach and Learn' module allows complex, repeatable tasks to be set up with no programming required by generating the VBA code whilst you are controlling the system.
Inspect-X also offers extended functionality with VBA (Visual Basic for Applications). VBA offers a full functional and easy to use visual integrated development environment that is common to all Microsoft Office applications. Also it allows integration with Microsoft and other COM compliant software so that connections can be easily made to other applications and databases.
In addition to the automation of tasks, VBA can be used to extend the user interface of Inspect-X by providing new windows.
For inspection systems that are supplied with the CT (Computed Tomography) function, Inspect-X provides an easy to use data collection and 3-D volume reconstruction function.
Inspect-X supports a number of different image capture devices including analogue and digital cameras.
Inspect-X is currently completing its initial development cycle and shall replace the iXS software.
IMPS is a PC based software package for image display, enhancement, and storage of the radioscopic images. The software runs on a powerful industrial PC. The software allows the entire inspection cycle to be fully automated or manually controlled.
Key features include three operator levels, all password protected, support for high resolution CCD, line scan, amorphous silicon detectors, multiple image processing utilities, control of micro-focus, mini-focus and macro-focus x-ray sources, multi-axis manipulator control and database and archive modules.
